The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has sent a Rs.10 billion ($64 million) legal notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, accusing him of making “baseless allegations” against PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari. The notice claims that Khan’s accusations caused “great harm and hurt” to the PPP and its reputation, and asks for an unconditional apology to be given within 14 days. If the apology is not given, the PPP intends to pursue legal proceedings against Khan in Pakistan and England for damages of Rs.10 billion. The notice was in response to Khan’s recent claims that Zardari was behind a plot to assassinate him.
