Islamabad court to indict Imran Khan on Feb 7 in Toshakhana case

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, has been indicted by a court in Islamabad in the Toshakhana case. The judge set February 7 as the date for the indictment after Khan failed to appear in court. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had requested for arrest warrants for Khan, but the court rejected the request and instead ordered Khan to submit surety bonds of Rs20,000 to ensure his presence in the next hearing. The ECP had previously disqualified Khan from being a member of the National Assembly and ruled that he was involved in corrupt practices. The ECP had also sent a reference to a trial court to begin criminal proceedings in the case.
