The Punjab Police conducted a raid on the residence of former Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi in Gujrat to arrest PML-Q leader Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain. However, the police left after they were unable to find Wajahat. A case was registered against Wajahat and his son, Musa Elahi, at the Kaklari Police Station in Gujrat on January 16 in connection with violence that took place during a clash over the change of name of the Kotla Arab Ali Khan Civil Hospital. Musa has obtained bail in the case, but Wajahat has not. Elahi claimed that his employees were harassed by the police during the search operation. Wajahat and Musa were booked under terrorism charges following an audio leak in which they allegedly plotted to kidnap women lawmakers.
