The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has urged the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan to boycott the upcoming by-elections on National Assembly (NA) vacant seats. The ruling coalition contacted MQM-P after the Pakistan Peoples’ Party set the condition that it would not contest the by-elections on the vacant NA seats only if Awami National Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan boycott upcoming polls. Sources revealed that MQM-P will make the decision after considering all the facts on the ground. By-polls on 33 NA seats will be held on March 16. Earlier, it was reported that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz had urged coalition parties not to contest by-elections due to a fear of defeat.
