Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for a federal cabinet meeting to be held at 4 pm today. The meeting will be chaired by Sharif and will feature the presentation of the Hajj Policy 2023 for approval. The economic situation of the country will also be discussed, along with a briefing from the finance ministry on progress in negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Earlier in the day, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Jameel Ahmed informed the Senate standing committee that an agreement with the IMF is imminent, with foreign exchange reserves set to reach $4.3 billion by the next weekend and further increase by June 30.
